Welcome to San Francisco

We spent a day in San Francisco on our way back from Hawaii. This broke up the trip back nicely, otherwise the 12 hour trip can seem very long. We tried to see all the sites we could in one day.
Golden Gate Bridge One of San Francisco's trademarks. This is the view from a mountain overlook on the Sausalito side.

Cable Car Cable cars still run daily in San Francisco. When the driver engages the car they actually hook onto a moving cable under the street, this allows them to get pulled up the steep hills of San Francisco. Until you actually visit San Francisco, its hard to envision how steep some of the streets are. We spent our 6'th anniversary touring the city and went out to eat that night on Russian Hill (noted for it's fine Italian restaurants).

Pier 39 These sea lions have taken over the Pier 39 area. No one knows why, but they come here in droves to relax and sun themselves. We spent 45 minutes watching them jocky for space and bark at each other, a few even rolled off the docks by accidient in their sleep.
